Arrrrghh! I'm back! I managed to escape finally from the House of Food. And I came out alive! (if a little fatter than before)

What happened is that my family decided to go to my step dad's mum's house on christmas day. You know, see the relatives and all that (not that they're related to me). When we got there we were immediately greeted with full on Christmas lunch. Which was nice, I have to day. Then no more than an hour later, we were presented with full on Christmas Tea, while discussions of Christmas Dinner and Christmas Supper were in the air. No minute of the day was unplanned and un-nourished. I don't think there was a point that I didn't have a piece of cutlery in my hand.

After meal after relentless meal yesterday, we finally managed to go to bed. From the second we woke up the next day we had breakfast, brunch, and then half an hour later lunch, then an hour later some other relatives came around (again, not actually related) and we had copious ammounts of sandwiches.

Finally, we decided we couldn't take it. Appart from the fact we suspected we were being fattened up for some kind of bizzarre ritual, we wanted to know that our cats hadn't caused a small uprising and taken over one of the smaller southern counties. So, we finally managed to leave.

Going to see people for Christmas is all very well, but please, I'd rather not be eating constantly! What makes it worse is that my parents don't seem to ever eat, so I've been used to not eating much at all.

I guess it wasn't all bad - I got some soap :D - not that I can use it, since it gives me a rather nasty rash.

I know exactly what you mean. I just walked the dog for an hour, and I'm gradually starting to feel normal for the first time since about 4pm on Christmas eve.

The thing is, everybody(really, everybody) involved in our family get togethers agrees that there is always too much food. So why can't we get our act together and cut down a little? It never happens.

Thankfully we don't seem to eat that much. Just a little too much of the old Turkey.
We got the bog standard... Lunch.. Supper....... :)
However.. we'll be feeeding of the turkey until around about New Years Eve.. THEN. New Years Day we're having a second Christmas Lunch. OMG. I swear my mother is trying to rid the world of turkeys..

Hehe. Spent a week with the folks, ate great every day, and came home the same weight. It's not what you eat, it's when you say NO MORE! ;)

Quit smoking in October..I do not understand the meaning of no more when it comes to food. Just now getting over it. Gained nearly 35 pounds since October 3rd. Can probably tack another 5 on from Christmas! All worth it though. Holiday eating is something to be cherished.:)

    New Years resolution, lose weight.:(
