Esception unknown software exception

    While I am in a software package, during any given operation I will receive "the exception unknown software exception (0x0eedfade) occured in the application at location 0x7c8ieb33. I have contacted the software manufacturer and they are telling me it's a Windows problem. Any ideas.
    The software I am using is called "The Business Assistant" from Softeksoftware.

    Running Windows xp pro
    1 gig ram
    intel p4 processor

    Does this only occur with this particular software package?

    Try uninstalling the software and reinstalling.

    Yes it is only in this software package. A complete new install was done as well. However the only problem is the data had to be copied to the new install. I'm just not sure what type of error this is.

    Just going to tippy toe in this thread and ask is this software XP compatible?

    Is it working on any other XP machine?

    Line from Softeksoftwares site... doesnt mean its XP compat.
    try running the .exe to that program in compatability mode for say NT or 2000 .. to to this right click the .exe then properties > Compatibility > Run this program in compatibility mode for.... and choose OS > Apply.

    I will try that thanks. I do need to amend the problem. That error pops up everytime I shut the program down. After I close the "exception" window. A runtime 217 error pops up. You know it's kind of funny. Before I loaded the program, the manufacturer specifically stated users must have Windows xp pro. Go figure.

    Thanks. Problem has been solved. RAM stickes were replaced and the error has not happened in since.
