    Greetings, Burgess...

    Couple of quickies:

You might try dumping your temporary internet files, and trying the site again...

Try to access the site by using IE with no add-ons - I think the link is in Accessories, System Tools...

Load up the latest version of Firefox, see if FF has the same problems...

Make sure you've got the latest Flash, Java, and Shockwave plug-ins...

Try these, and keep us posted as to the results...

The ESPN site is the only website that causes the problem? You've verified this?

I just checked the espn.com site with IE8-64bit, no problems...there's nothing fancy there, no Flash or Shockwave stuff, just plain-vanilla Java and HTML...

What versions of IE and Java are you running?

    How do you check them?

For IE, open it up and then click Help > About Internet Explorer

For Java and say Flash, I would do a clean install of them and below are steps.... as I dont know your Windows version and Service Pack, then the instructions are pretty much for both 32bit and 64bit Windows.

But do tell us what Windows version you have, can find this info by right clicking My Computer/Computer and choosing Properties.
