Ethernet driver for packard bell mx37

Having the same problem with an MX37-U-057NL. My girlfriend has a dutch Packard Bell easynote, got riddled with viruses, died. we formatted so I put my old XP on from another PC (I formatted the drive). Having installed some XP drivers from the SiS download site I have the following errors on Device Manager: Network Adapters; Ethernet Controller (yellow circle and exclamation), below that: Other Devices; Ethernet Controller (YC&E), Unknown Device (YC&E). Wireless has been installed and seems to work, however I need to plug the router into the laptop before I can use the wireless. I managed to get the sound drivers working fine. I know this is an extremely old thread but I thought I'd give it a shot. Is it a case of going for Windows 7 for this particular laptop?

In Device Manager, under Network Adapter there should be a yellow exclamation mark. Right Click and select Properties and then provide the Vendor and Device ID. I believe it is a SIS191 controller but I want to make sure.
