I have an emachine with windows vista. I also have a wireless router with hard wire ports. All other computers work with the wireless router, can get onto the internet. When I connect a hard wire to the emachine (tower) i cannot connect to the internet. How do I load and update the driver when I download it to my laptop. Do I put the driver on a disk and if yes how do I load it to the emachine. Thanks

    Hello,
Under Network adapters in Device Manager, do you see any yellow exclamation marks? Also what is the model number of your computer?

First thing is to find a driver for your adapter. I've tried googling w3610 and emachine w3610 and found nothing relevant at all. Can you give us more info on this adapter by right clicking it in Device Manager?

If you can find a driver using your laptop then just download it to a flash drive or to a CD-RW and plug that drive/insert that CD into the emachine, right click the adapter in device manager and click update driver. You can then browse to the flash/CD drive.

There might not even be an issue with the ethernet port/driver it may well lay with the rj45 cable, try connecting with a different cable, I am thinking that it is the cable as you say there is no warnings in your device manager.
But if you are still wanting the driver for the LAN then you will need to run everest....
