ethernet jacket color meanings

    hi MGs

    i am just wondering if the ethernet jacket colors mean anything
    like the blue, yellow, white so on.

    do they mean anything or no

    i have verizon fios internet 25mbps download/ 20 upload
    and just want to max it out as much as i can

    i looked on internet but no info.
    also i think its cat5 would cat6 be better or is that
    a different connector other then RJ45

    The color means nothing (it is the choice of the dye in the plastic), it is done to help Id cables when you run in many cables as a bunch.

    Cat5e or Cat6 will not make any different since both are capable to transfer signal much faster than you Internet connection.

    The only thing that you can do is optimize your computers TCP/IP.
