    Hi Gang...

I'm having the same exact prob as Fuzzy in this thread:

    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=190313

Had to reload Windows XP and I had no internet afterwards. Used the CD from Comcast I got when i first got their internet service, but it says there's no Network Adapter. There is one there, of course, but the system can't get it back to life...

    Thnx!

Did you install all the drivers from Dell for your PC?
Which is required sometimes especially after a clean install.

You do not need to use the CD from Comcast on any of your computers. I currently have 7 computers in the house - one used the Comcast CD but I'm pretty sure that was on the 98SE install and it is connecting via a windows 2000 install.
On the other hand, you do need all the drivers loaded for your hardware. Sometimes XP does not include the particular drivers you need.
What is the make model and number after the model of your computer?
I'll see if the manufacturer has the drivers to download.
If you open device manager, you probably see a yellow ! or a red X after your NIC.

Have a Dell Dimension 8250. Open device drivers and says "ethernet controller" with a yellow question mark. Nothing else....

    Thnx!

    Hello,

Thats because the driver for your NIC (Network Card) is missing.

Here is where you can get the latest drivers for your PC

I don't necessarily know your Network card, but from what it looks there, I would suggest installing either the Intel or the Broadcom.

Let me know if that helps.
