Ethernet/Wifi Driver Problems

    Hi, this is a realtively new problem my laptop is experiencing and I've spent the last few hours trying to solve it myself with no real luck.

    I have a Dell Inspiron, about 4 years old now, running Windows Vista Home Premium. Sometime last evening I was disconnected from my home's wifi but none of the other wifi devices in my house were affected, so I don't think the problem is with my wifi. I tried to manually reconnect to my internet, and although it detected my wifi with "excellent" strength, it wasn't able to connect and the diagnosis it was giving me was "low signal strength or driver issues".

    So I checked out my drivers under the device manager and my network adapter "realtek RTL8101" is displaying a "Code 10". The driver currently running for it is "rtlh64.sys"

    I'm not sure how to go about updating my driver to smoething more recent, which I hoped would solve my problem, without my laptop being connected to the internet itself. I'd love some help.

    Hi

    What is your model version of Dell, service tag code will do or run this HERE click detect service tag

    Is your Windows Vista fully up to date, as in what Service Pack are you using?


    The fix is likely to be re-install your Chipset driver and reboot (crucial to reboot) and then install the Network driver and reboot and test.

    Do only use the drivers from Dell and not from some driver updater app as they cause more issues than enough at times.

    EDIT:
    I updated my drivers and they're all up to date and functioning fine, I'm now not 100% sure this is a driver problem at all.
