    can somebod explain the event viewer for win xp?

    If you're worried about the failure, double-click it for more info about each specific one. Most likely you just entered a wrong password once.

    i should never have looked! i have all sorts of failiers in my event folders !!!:(

    so have I Laurie.... most of them are either my DSL DHCP crapping out or a service I have disabled wanting to start but is denied! DCOM being the usual culprit.

    if your PC is working ok then you can ignore most of them, its only when you have a problem that you need to have a closer look..... XP is unlike the 9x windows versions which would just die on you at the slightest hint of a application failure..XP does hang for a few seconds then retrys the app again.
