This morning, my computer just shut down by itself.

I tried to reboot but nothing...............

I did it several times and a couple of times I heard the startup tune but no monitor.

I though, oh crap, my monitor took a dump. So I undid everything to check inside and saw this:

The tops on the "whatever they are" on the graphics card had burst..........

I went and got a card and everything is ok so far.

But what could have caused the tops on thise things to burst open like that?

They are called capacitors and they do blow once in while. Maybe too much heat, I dunno. If it was eVGA then you have a lifetime warranty.

I've heard of 1 or 2 blowing, but this is the first time i've heard of that many at once.
Had there been an electrical storm at the time while your machine was on?
