everest list Sound problem HELP.

i have read everthing and spent atleast 40 hours on the ...can any one help i have no sound and there is a yellow ! point on ethernet controller and the realtek ac 97 audio....

I reinstalled xp and that is when the sound problem started. I installed the chipset drivers and the sound driver from the gateway website but no good still.

in the device manager it says under the sound it says "this device is working properly" and there is a code 10..

 

the laptop is a mx6025 i have deleted the drivers and restarted i used the conexant drivers off gateways site....i belive alot of people have had problems. I also cant seem to find anything to do with sound in the BIOS its like its not there?????????
