evrey time i log on and try to use a program i get a little side message

evrytime i go to open any of my software anymore about 90% of the time it tells me that the prefetch file is currupt it still runs but its quit annoying any ideas whats causing this?

ps:windows xp pro 2002,sp2

 

1. Boot with Safe Mode Prompt Only mode.

2. Type cd\ which will you bring you to the root which will display as C:\>

3. Type cd windows

4. Type cd prefetch and your prompt display will look like: C:\windows\prefetch>

5. Type del *.*

This will wipe the prefetch contents. Windows will automatically rebuild the prefetch based on your usage patterns.

Reboot into normal mode.

 

you can delete the prefetch data from ccleaner aswell

 

problem fixed itself weird but ty anyway both of you
