Evrsoft First Page 2006 screen not opening

OS: MS Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3
Computer: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.26GHz 2.0 GB RAM
Malware Protection: MS Security Essentials

I ran the Fix-It Utilities 4.0 programme while 1 Evrsoft First Page 2006 was open.
Since then no Evrsoft First Page 2006 wants to open up. I also tried opening my backup Evrsoft First Page files, but without success. The page remains blank, saying: “Loading Ultra S/R Engine…” and neither can I close it, it hangs. I need to unplug the PC to get it to boot off.

To try and fix it I uninstalled Evrsoft First Page 2006, ran Fix-It Utilities 4.0, and downloaded Evrsoft First Page 2006. All with the same result: the page starts to open, then reverts to blank, saying “Loading Ultra S/R Engine…” and neither can I close it, it hangs. I need to unplug the PC to get it to boot off.

The result is that I can't access our website to make any changes.

Please advise.

Use a restore point before you used those Fix-it Utilities. Obviously it "fixed" something that didn't need fixing.

For future troubleshooting: before doing any kind of tweaking/fixing/removing please create a restore point manually before you run the program.

I do not trust those types of programs. I'd rather do 1 change at a time, note the consequences and undo it if something seems broken. Letting some program make lots of changes at once is a recipe for a possible disaster, in my opinion.

Thanks for this advice, but I forgot to mention that our IT specialist did exactly that.
We rolled back 3 days earlier than the event and he was very surprised when it was not accepted because 'no system changes occurred'. He's at a loss as well.
