Excel 2003

    I have been using Excel 2003 for years, with no problem. However, after I close computer and then open it again I click on Excel on the desktop and get a window...Preparing to install...then...Please wait while configure Microsoft Office Basic...! After a couple of minutes, it loads and all is well. What am I missing for the desktop icon to take me directly to Excell?

    right click on icon click on properties on the "shortcut" tab choose "find target" click apply. If this does not work right click on icon delete shortcut and recreate shortcut from start menu programs ....

    Can't highlight "Find Target" so I can click on it. This is the icon moved from the start menu. The original one won't work either.

    What I have done in the past to create a working shortcut, is open the app in explorer and right click on the .exe file and click create shortcut. Then I drag the new shortcut on to the desktop. :)
