I have an HP windows XP with 1gig memory. I have Verizon DSL hookup. Problem is when it comes out of hibernation, the task manager shows all processes are like over 20 grand in memory usage. If i reboot evrything goes back to normal. The excessive usage doesn't seem to affect, or slow anything down. Any ideas?

This sounds very similar to a bug from windows xp media center edition. Do you have this version?

    Some things to try:

Disable/turn off hibernation, reboot, turn on hibernation and go into hibernation. Do you still have those issues?

Also, the page file, did you set it up yourself, or is windows managing it?

Thanks, theefool. I forgot to mention i have tweak-xp ver 3.5. It had some preset parameters. Anyway i tried disabling the paging file. I don't do any intensive work or games. I tried hibernation and the processes were back to normal, so far so good.

You may want to re-enable the pagefile and have windows manage it. See if that works.

But, I've heard of people not running a pagefile and never hading any problems even with games running. Until this certain individual started playing Half Life 2.
