    Hi Guys,

I've tried searching in Google and Microsoft Knowledge Base as well as other forum for solutions in vain so I've go to seek for Exchange 2003 experts advice here.

Currently I've an Exchange Server 2003 supporting 15 users here but the configuration of my last Tech guy has located the mailboxes in the wrong partition of the local disk which was only 20GB with the OS. I would like to find out from experts here to see if anyone has the solution to move all the mailboxes to the other partition which has 60GB catered without affecting the users.

What I've found from Google and MS is the moving of mailboxes from server to server under the same directory and something call EXMerge to merge the exported mailboxes from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003.

Please kindly let me know if you've any knowledge of workarounds that I can implement to this problem.

Thanks alot and appreciation in advance :) .

    Regards,
    Joe.

Hi Joe, search for the tool exmerge which will export all users .pst files from the Exchange store, and allow you to move them over to the new partition. I wouldn't call myself an Exchange Expert though.

    Hi Nick,

    Thanks alot for your reply.

There's few more things I need to confirm before hitting the button.

    1) Do I have to stop all exchange services before using exmerge to export the Information Store out to another location?

    2) When I look into Exchange System Manager, the mailbox is path to c:\program files\exchsvr\bin\, will I be able to path it back if the priv file is in d:\exchange?

    3) What are the chances of the data loss? It's critical as the users are dealing with big timers so every mail is money to them.

    Thanks again in advance. :)

Well, there is aways a change for data loss, you may want to just step the $ and call up Microsoft and have them walk you through it, there are many places that you can find info like this online as well.

Yes, all exchange services need to be stopped.

Well, I've another problem here... In another exchange server 2003 setup, I've found out that I'm unable to create new users as the mailbox storage group cannot be found. I've checked the exchange mailbox user option but still nothing happens.

After much searching in the server itself, I've found out that the "First Administrative Group" cannot detects any "Storage groups" within and returns some funny codes. After I click ok on the error message, I've found out that there's no binary tree to this important section at all but the funny thing is the current users are still able to use their exchange mailboxes at their workstations as well as POP3 mailboxes from home execpt for 1 particular user which I've just created was only able to access exchange mailbox locally but unable to do a POP3 retreival from home.

Please kindly guide me on the remedy of the problem.

    Many Thanks in advance.
