actually is what i am looking for is a program that will allow me to send emails to outside sources such as gmail or yahoo. The mail server that comes with s2003 to my knowledge only allows you to send emails within your network.

    Thanks

need to clarify then, are you running exchange server 2K3 or windows server 2K3? They are 2 completely different OS's

SBS 2003 with exchange can send emails to outside sources, you just need the domain name and a static ip. Then you just need to get your domains mx record pointed to your static ip.

Then just run the mail setup wizard in exchange system manager or the ceicw wizard from the server management consul.

Then all you need to do i configure your router to allow port 25 to be used.
