I am thinking about buying one of the newest wireless routers for the home desktop pc. I would like to do this so my wife can use her mini-laptop from the bedroom and be able to use her wi-fi. We are using a hard-wire ethernet cable modem on the desktop in the den right now. Will setting this router up on the desktop make this happen???

It certainly should, and welcome to MG's. You may need to hard wire your machines to the router until they aquire the net address, but then it should be able to find the wireless signal.

You will need to place some security on the router.

I am moving your thread to the networking forum. :)
