exit freeze

xp pro freezes up on exit...........push to close and it sit and then the cursor freezes.....requires manual shut off......any suggestions

 

If you're using any memory management software, try disabling/exiting it before powering down. Try running Dial-A-Fix http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4899.html Check everything in the Registration Center and click Go. Right click My Computer > Manage > Event Viewer > System and look for any errors or warnings that are listed for the time when you try to shut down. Check under Applications also. If you have any USB devices connected they can sometimes cause problems with shutting down, as can sound cards. Check your sound drivers for an update, or temporarily disable it in the Device Manager and see if it helps.
