Is there a converter for .exo files?

    Thanks, TDV

Well, there is the YouTube App which will decrypt the Android based .exo, however .......because of file compression and encryption, you would be running well to find a soft app to convert to mp4, or the likes!

Let me know if you have any luck :)

So far no luck, every suggestion turned out to be nonsense. I can play it on VLC, but not convert it there. As the video is about 4GB and has almost 3000 files, I have to play it in parts. That is why I would like to convert it...
The idiocy of the net-world really knows no limits.

Thank you, but I know all that already...

Basically I asked, because the encryption cannot be that professional if VLC player can play Video...

Where and how did you get the video file?

Well its 128 bit AES encrypted.......crack that and I will bow down to you!

Its purposely formatted this way to battle piracey, and only approved software shall decrypt it because the key is embedded.

    Good Luck ;)

It was a broadcast of an opera on the arte TV app. I downloaded it and transferred it to my desktop, where I watched it on large TV screen it is connected to.

    @Replicator....
What I wrote was, that I do not consider something adequately encrypted, when it can simply be played on a vlc player on a windows desktop, without any problem.
Even if it consists of 2760 encrypted files....
Broadcasting, or watching an opera on a smartphone seems a bit retarded, but then this is the 21st century where retarded is the new normal. And why it would be pirating if one watches a video that he had totally legally on his phone would fall into the same category, don't you agree?

Try using the convert option through VLC player.

I use VLC player to convert youtube videos to mp3 format.

The encryption is adequate......what would you look for in adequacy?

You miss the point, any encryption can be released with required key and VLC must posses the codec for this, no doubt under license from a YT approved product.

Its encrypted because there are many around who don't have 'totally legal' data on their devices, I'm sure you get that :)
If I can force you to pay $$ for my software.....I will!

Thank you, but if you check further up, you will see, that I did try... I usually use their converter for all it does, but they answered my question in mail "No, it cannot convert .exo"

As your software works incredibly slow today, I will answer all in this one...

The idea that vlc gets a key from german government TV, while the rest of the people do not, is a bit weird. But your misunderstanding is more basic, because there is no software that you can buy! (Not that I would pay for something like that if there were)
Then usual problem simply those copyright laws, which are adadpted to the digital age by those who make a living off them. I do not mean the artists!
Which of course is the reason why "many don't have 'totally legal' data on their devices", that allow a public service TV station like arte to broadcast a program free and accessible for android devices, but not for non-android devices... There is no reason for this and there is also nothing illegal about downloading with android and watching using windows.
I am sure you know that this is the reason why a huge part of the viewers have stopped giving a **** about the legality of their doing? :)
There is abolutely nothing wrong with "If I can force you to pay $$ for my software.....I will!", if you can... you offer an .exo to .avi converter?
There are most certainly several softwares, like IDM or a VPN, that are worth their money. But that people pay for the garbage that google or apple sell in their stores for their phones is nothing but a sad example for the general downslide of society... what to say about paying MS for the Win7 updates! :p

    Care to explain the above?

I used the app of a german TV station "arte" on my tablet. I found something that i liked, watched the beginning and then downloaded it.
I then transferred the folder of 3.77GB, containing almost 3000 .exo files to the desktop I am using right now.

The folder will play perfectly well using vlc player on this Win7 desktop, but otherweise cannot be convertet. As this video goes into my external strorage, I wanted to convert it, as I know from experience that afterwards it will only be around 1Gb.
So I searched the internet for some software, found nothing, ended up asking here, because I had good experiences with questions here.

    Good enough?

I'm surprised it can't be watched on a PC.

Lmao, you found nothing, neither did we.......it was explained why!
Maybe you could learn some python, and write your own scripts to overcome your objectives?

I never wrote it cannot be watched on PC. I simply prefer to store a video like that as single file, with around 1.5GB. Instead 2700 files with 4GB.

    You are right of course....
But I am someone who uses computers for his interests, computers are simply a tool for me. Unless something actually needs to learned, like updating Win7 or integrating a USB3 driver in an iso... I simply ask like I did here. My understanding of computers is very, very small compared to users of this forum.
I am also too old to have any spare time to waste on learning python....

Thank you for your help, i appreciate it

PS My computer is quite fast (although I am not a gamer) but your website is unbelievably slow... why is that?

It's probably your web browser or your isp.

Run a speed test on your web browser .

What I am trying to say is, your website is the ONLY website that sticks out. After having clicked just now on the "Reply" button of your post, it took about half a minute for the answering window showing your quoted post.... when I now click on Post Reply it will take over one minute to actually send it...

Not seeing any issues with major geeks site. It's most likely on your end.

Edit: If this a different issue open up a different thread.

I agree, it has to be on your end. I'm typing this on an 11 year old Win 7 computer and have no issues with things taking very long times here.

    What browser are you using?

(I didn't time it but my reply took under 10 seconds to appear).
