I have a SHARP JX9600PS Laserprinter which I purchased in the early 1990's. It's about one of the best printers I ever owned and was still going strong last year before I invested in a new Computer. The printer requires a serial port, bu I only have USB ports. I understand that I can buy a conversion cable. Is it worth spending the 50-60 Bucks for the cable? I am running VISTA Home Premium, 64 bits. Also, does anyone know if a driver would be available? I would appreciate any help. Thank you

    Ermm, no! ;)

I VERY much doubt it. You may be able to get some basic functions using the standard windows drivers.

But if i was you, i would lose the printer, upgrade to a nice modern one, but watch out for the ones with extortionate cartridge prices.

Brother usually have the cheapest cartridge prices in the UK, but that could be different over there.
