We were recently given a computer. It came with Windows XP and Explorer 6. We have a problem with Explorer. Everytime we try to open more than one window, the window we started in closes so that you can only have one window open at any given time. If you click on a link that opens in a new window, it closes the original window automatically. I've tried everything I know of to fix this....any ideas????

If you want multiple windows(Tabs) try this browser.
    Crazy Browser 3.0 Beta 3

    I use AM Browser-aka-Crazy Browser
It can do everything IE can do since it uses IE's engine to render web pages. I even get my Windows Updates using it,and I LOVE the Tabs!
If you don't want the Beta version go to the Author's Web Site (Click "Author:Crazy Browser" on the d/l here, click the Download Link at the Crazy Browser Website and d/l this version:
Download Crazy Browser 2.01 Now! (this is the one I'm using....only it's AM Browser....same Author)
    ;)

This doesn't fix the problem. This is merely a workaround. Please help the user to fix the problem. THEN, offer an alternative.

    A possible fix:

    Within IE:

Go to Tools> Internet Options> Advanced.
Uncheck "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts"
