    Morning

    Whenever I boot my machine I get to the desktop after the desktop has populated I get the following error message

    The instruction at "0x00000000" referenced memory at "0x0000000". The memory could not be written.

    I get the option to terminate the program or debug.

    I choose cancel. The program (explorer.exe) then shuts down and the machine then appears to operate normally although it does appear to take a bit longer to startup programs.

    I have run several AVs, SFC scan, chkdsk /r.

    Anybody give me an idea as to how to correct or what the issue may be?

    Many thanks

    G..

    Could be a bad memory stick. If you have more than one, take one out and see if you get the error.

    Also, try running this program;

    By the way, OS, make/model, antivir?

    Good, also try from a command prompt
    chkdsk /f
    If it doesn't run immediately, which I don't think it will, it will run on next restart.
