    Running W98se, 600mghtz, 6gig, 128R...

Recently installed a few MG accessory downloads, and the XP icon and window changes... Now when I click shutdown, an Explorer pop-up reads "Explorer did an illegal", and the desktop comes back, bypassing shutdown.. and the PC must be hard shut down...

Is there something I can do to hit Explorer with, to stop Explorer preventing a proper shutdown, without losing the latest lovely enhancement downloads?.

I'd recommend that you try running the system file checker as some of these "enhancements" have likely messed with important system files. Following the instructions and the link above should restore said files with known good copies.

I ran file checker, and all my cleanup softwares...

Turns out this PC got Hit by an evolved natas critter, from opening an email I shouldn't have...

Good thing I've got a drawer full of OS charged HD's...

Now the hard part.. to get into that HD enough to pull out 30 edited pix...
