Explorer Invalid Page Fault

When I go online, connect and my Browser comes up with my home page.....right away I get an error in "Explorer.exe"......the browser and internet connection stays put......but due to the error my desktop disappears.......

Error = Explorer.exe Illegal Operation, and will be shut down
Explorer caused an Invalid Page Fault in module CDGWIZ.DLL

then I got
Error = Rundll32 Illegal Operation, and will be shut down
Rundll32 caused an Invalid Page Fault in module WEOCK32.DLL

? I looked up the first one in the microsoft.support.com but could find nothing, lots of info for IExplore, but nothing much for Explore and certainly no information about cdgwiz.dll

Any thoughts?


I have Windows 98SE
Internet Explorer 6.0 128-bit
64mb RAM, 400MHZ
I know its old but I have no money to upgrade.......lol

 

Could be spyware, I couldn't find anything on either of those 2 files. Have you scanned with Ad-aware and Spybot?

Yep, I scanned with both of those this morning, and it happened again after.....I just downloaded an update for ad-aware dated 230504 so I will do another scan

Have you tried to search for the two DLL files to see where they are located on your HDD ?

Have you tried to see version info for the DLL files by right clicking them and choosing Properties ? (If able to locate the DLL files)

Have you tried to "unregister" the two DLL files ?

Have you treid to rename the two DLL files ? (if able to unregister them)

So far in the last few days since re-running Ad-aware and spy bot I havent gotten the error again

So I guess we can close this thread for now.......no sense looking into something thats not happening anymore.....lol

I will be back if it happens again..........which is my luck.....the moment I SAY alls well......its not......LOL
