Explorer lag problem

Hello Major Geeks,

I've just been having lag problems with my PC the past few days.

It would be working fine when I boot it but after a while it starts lagging horribly. Then when I check the task manager, under processes I would see explorer taking up 99% of my ram, which would explain the lag. Normally what I just do is to end explorer and start it up again, and it would be fixed, but the problem comes back after some time.

Anyone know why this could be happening? Any help is greatly appreciated.
