Explorer sidebar dissapeared?

Hey im running XP SP2 and the other day the sidebar of the windows folders dissapeared.

I cant seem to find how to get it back.

Any help please?

 

You refer to the Windows Sidebar, do you mean the Quick Launch toolbar? Which is the folders next to the start button. If so, right-click an empty space on the bottom bar and click toolber, make sure Quick Launch is checked.

thats not what i want.

I want the side pannel that shows info on the folder that im in.

It usually shows the folder name. If you select a file it will display the file size and its attrbutes etc.

Can you find a folder you don't care about posting, and do a printscreen, so I can see exactly what yours looks like?

How about this? Tools menu -> Folder Options -> "Show Common Tasks in Folders" [Y]

(what happens when you try view -> explorer bar -> folders? it's not there?)
