Exporting Addresses from Incredimail to OE

I recently got my friend out of Incredimail and into Outlook Express. We made OE the default. We then tried to inport the address out of Incredimail into OE and rec'd an error message that it cannot transfer the file. Do you think we should make Incredimail the default before transferring?
Any help would be appreciated.

I know Incredimail can be a PITA, when it comes to wanting to change and export your data to another mail app, but try this ( not tested as I wont install incredimail on my pc )

To export addresses

Select Tools > Address Book... from the menu
Select File > Export... from the address book's menu

Go to the folder where you want to keep the backup copy of your address book > enter a file name for the copy eg "My Contacts (csv)" should work fine, though > Click Save

as Outlook and Outlook Express can import CSV format data files

if you want to copy or export mail then this may help

Hi Halo, Thank you so much for answering this post. My friend is very anxious about getting off of Incredimail after reading much of the info I had sent her about it. I will forward your response and see how she makes out with your method. The conventional way of [I]"Go to File, then down to import contacts........and the browse and find where to import them too..... [/I] " didn't work and she was receiving an error msg that it couldn't transfer the file. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again!! Geri
