extent-level backup

    hello,
    anybody knows what the "extent-level backup" means?
    Is it a way of backup?

    It isn't a "way" of backup . . . it's a backup performed in relation to the extent of changes made since the previous backup. Read the info at the following links for more info:

    (the info at the above links was written referencing specific programs, but the concepts of data backup remain the same regardless of what is being backed up, or the program that actually performs the backup)
