I have a removable hard drive [fire wire 800] enclosure, connected to a Dell XPS [Gen4, WindowsXP service Pack2] with a Firewire 400 PCI card - I originally tried it with a Firewire 800 PCI card but it was incompatable with my Caopus video card.

Currently I can see one drive, I even managed to see two (of the three) drives, however, I can't get all three to work. I have tried changing ever combination of jumpers so that they are all masters, cable sellect and slaves.

Has anyone used the Geek Squad from Best Buys to help with computer support? If so was it helpful? Do you think they could help me with this level of support? I had a local computer support company come over and ther weren't helpful at all.

If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks

I've never used best buy for tech help ... never needed it ... but IMO best buy is full of sales men .. I would use compusa before them
