    Hello good people of MG.
Was wondering if anyone could chime in on the idea of having an external GPU.
Hoping to have a light laptop with 8G ram 4th Gen i5 for school...and then a reasonable external video card for when I want to game.

    Any thoughts/advice is greatly appreciated

    YA that one kinda does.
On a budget and kinda was hoping this could be an option...portability with the laptop and added gaming gpu with external when needed.

    Thanks for the link.

I know this to work, friend begged an old video card to try it then bought a more powerful card. Not perfect, but it works well enough. He has a studio so space is at a premium and this rig sits under his desk ready for his laptop to come home.
Truth be told a full gaming rig would not be much more time and money.
