my external hard drive is not being recognized. It fell on the floor and now only clicks
Is there any way to save the data on the drive?

The only way to save the data is through a professional data recovery service like DriveSavers (link: http://www.drivesavers.com/ ) and it won't be cheap. You hard drive has suffered physical and/or mechanical damage. This type of damage makes standard software-based recovery methods impossible.
    :cry

(DriveSavers has done data recovery for many TV shows and famous musical and movie personalities from The Simpsons to Jimmy Buffet to Harrison Ford)
