external hard drive usb 1.0????

Hi guys i need a little help :my girlfriend from Romania has a Compaq 5bw250 desktop pc ,15gb hard drive and she asked me to send her a big external hard drive.I found a lot of external hard drives but all of them are usb 2.0. Compaq 5bw250 has usb 1.0. Somebody please tell me the name of an external hard drive 1.0 or how can i upgrade her computer from usb 1.0 to usb 2.0 and this way i can buy her an external hard drive usb 2.0 . Thank you

 

They are backward compatible, so if you plug in a USB 2 device into a USB 1 or USB 1.1, it will still work, but at a much slower speed.

You can buy add-in PCI USB 2.0 cards for fairly cheap.
