OKay so I have a Maxtor one touch plus4, Seagate. 1 TB External Hard drive... It's worked fine for about the last six months or so on multiple computers. I went to access it this past weekend and it's not reading. It comes up in the device manager as there being a usb mass storage device, but the plug and play side of it isn't working and it's not coming up under my computer. I've heard of software to manually mount external drives for Linux, but I can't seem to find anything that works with Windows (Vista or XP). I was also told you can go into the registry and manually map the drive (tried doing so from the map network drives, but it's not reading.) but I have no idea where in the reg it'd be... Anyone out there have any thoughts, suggestions, ideas, comments anything?!?!?!
