external hardrive media player

    hey guys,
    i saw an add a few weeks back in a maplin newsletter for an external hardrive 320gb which cold connect to a tv an act like a digital hub
    just wondering has anybody ever used them as there pretty rare
    was it worth the cash etc ?
    any cheaper reccomendations from different sites
