I have a dell xps 8300. Recently had issues with bsod.
performed malware removal with help from majorgeek malware forum.
My question is should I worry about my external hardrive having malware/virus.
I use it to back up my computer periodically.
should I scan it with malwarebytes and avast?

Any help will be greatly appreciated

With the two programs you're using, yes. I don't know the size of your external drive but it could take quite some time to do a complete scan. If Avast! is/has been monitoring the external drive, there may already be items in quarantine.

I have a seagate external hardrive with 500 GB memory.
I worried because I don't keep this drive connected all the time to the computer.
I only connect it to computer when I back it up, or want to store extra files.

I went ahead and ran Avast and Malwarebytes and all came out clean.
Is running those two programs enough?

    Thank you

You mean 500 GB storage capacity. I have one too (a Western Digital).

Some people also run SuperAntiSpyware available here at Major Geeks.
