External Hardware Compatability issues

This one is a REAL Doozy!

I am currently running DJ software-Traktor 3 LE + Behringer BCD3000 interface (bought as a bundle) on my desk top which has less than half the minimal RAM required for this application. Still runs well enough to play a good set on.

PROBLEM- I can get it all to work on my laptop which has more than double the min requirements.

The software runs smooth when I have external hardware disconnected and the built in sound card turned as the main output for the software, but as soon as I change the configuration as BCD3000 for the sound card, my problem starts.

The music plays really slowly, pauses at times and generally just just sucks!!
The software has a section at the top of the screen which displays current CPU usage and hardware conflicts and it appears all good.

I have narrowed it down to either a) BCD3000 ASIO audio driver compatibility issue or b) BCD and processor compatibility issue. I believe I have the latest updates for the processor so its not that. Ive tried ASIO4all, had troubles with ASIO2k. Very minimum background services are operating. Infact the laptop runs like a dream! accept for this....

- mobile AMD Athlon XP-M 2800+
- 2.13GHz
- 1 Gig RAM
- XP Pro w/service Pack 2

software min requirements:

- Win XP SP2, Pentium 3 or athlon 1 GHz, 512MB RAM
