Hi all, I have been using an external Seagate 320 GB for extra storage, mostly for pics and music. The other day, I noticed it wasnt as quiet as usual, making small clicking sounds. Decided to get all my data off the drive, in case it was on its way to death. When I access the drive, I can see all the contents, but sometimes it will stall when it loads up some of the files. If I try to access the files and copy to another drive, it goes extremely slow and sometimes freezes up after a handful of files have been moved. Sometimes, it will throw an error when it tries to copy a file, saying it cant read it. What is the best way to get my data off this drive?

You can try running chkdsk /r on the drive and maybe that will repair it (for now) but you may just have to copy one or two files at a time. :( Since this could be a controller issue, you may have remove the drive from the enclosure and install it in another, or attach it directly to a computer.
