external HDD is beeping

    Hi to all helpful MajorGeeks, ;):)
    I connected my Seagate 2.5 HDD with a USB 2.0 SATA/IDE cable to laptop and is making this beeping sound like a truck baking up.
    History on the drive; I had cloned it for back up purpose and now trying to updated it or re-write the image and when I connect it to laptop I get this beeping noise and is not turning....:confused
