    Hi Geeks!

    i have a big problem...

i have several external sata HDDs, which have all decided to become invisible and are not showing in 'my computer' they are in the disk management window but are described as 'unallocated' and not initialized.

this is what my toshiba satellite running win7 home reports!

when i try them in my older satellite (win xp) they report they are RAW format?

i have 2 types of external caddies 1 is esata and usb2 the other is usb2 and 3

they were working fine till i tried to access them via the usb3 connection which i bought as a pcmi (?) card for the later model satellite.

there is valuable data on these disks which i have stored on them....

    any suggestion please!

    Julie :cry

Forgive me for suggesting the obvious, but some times the obvious is overlooked. Try unplugging the external drive, then update your computer's drivers by going here: http://www.majorgeeks.com/Driver_Collector_d3982.html and try installing the drive after that.
