I am looking to connect 2 or 3 external monitors to my laptop Precision M6500 with NVIDIA Quadro FX 2800M, right now am using the "plugable UGA 300" and having graphics problems looking for something better, I am using the monitors for trading and the platforms charts data having mager problems Today for the first time I decide it to unplug the externals and thats when i knottiest the improvement

    thanks

Since finding anything on the Dell site is a PITA. Do you have a dock / port replicator? Does it have USB C?

What I have is USB/eSATA and one VGA conector

Does it have a connector on the bottom of the laptop? Call Dell and get a port replicator, you can add monitors that way.
USB C or Thunderbolt technology is being used to implement a standalone GPU box, too bad.

Yes it has a port on the bottom for Docking Station Replicator
So you say the Dell E-Port Docking Station Replicator M6500 +PA-4E AC Adapter is equal or better to the Plugable USB 3.0 7-Port Hub with 25W Power Adapter
and it will give me better performance and no jittery pointer?

Since you say you're having graphics problems with the NVIDIA card, you may be better off getting external USB video adapters.

This advice assumes you have at least one USB 3.0 port on the PC. The exact adapter(s) you will need will depend on if the monitors used have HDMI input or just standard VGA (15-pin) input.

First, you'll need a USB 3.0 HUB to hook all the monitors to one USB 3.0 port, like this: https://smile.amazon.com/Anker-4-Po...F8&qid=1521086676&sr=1-5&keywords=usb+3.0+hub

Next, you'll need a USB to HDMI (or VGA) adapter for each monitor, like this: https://smile.amazon.com/Plugable-G...21086024&sr=1-42&keywords=usb+to+hdmi+adapter

Read the descriptions on how many adapters you can use at a time on one PC and user reviews before you buy.

I do not recommend using a docking station. It will not solve any issues with your existing onboard video and some docking stations will not support more than one monitor.

    Hope this helps.

I already have this setup with 4 monitors the problem am trying to solve is that the pointer when I am on the external monitor is jittery and kind a hard to control plus my trading platform/charts freeze up and dint update so in order for the trading platform to work normally I unplug the external hub and all is working fine, with just the laptop, so I figure that maybe I need a better setup or the problem is els were.

this is the ones I have.

Every laptop we use at work, we have on port replicators. External monitors are fine, mouse work normal. I haven't seen a dock that will not support multiple monitors since the IBM T23 Thinkpads (I think, that is a long time ago). The port on the dock will be faster than the USB.

Just wondering how many laptops / PCs you got? You could spread the load out and use Mouse Without Borders to control them.

    More info

I have 2 identical dell precision M6500 8 GB RAM originally had 2 21" monitors and a TV connected to one laptop so I disconnected all wanted to see if the trading platform will update, work normally and it does since then I split the 2 monitors to the 2 laptops and the problem is still there Idont thing both laptops have a software or hardware problem if there is one.

I order a Dell E-Port Docking Station Replicator M6800 E5... When it comes on Monday I will know if is going to work.

I try the graphics card driver update but I had the latest install.

I like to know more about the mouse without boarders sound like something I desperately need.

    Thanks.......

Both computers have to be on the same network. Both PCs connected to the same hotspot would work. If you want there is a hardware option J5 create Wormhole cable - its USB.
