External Pro Drive infection?

With the help of MajorGeeks, I was able to remove a stubborn Trojan from my computer and all is well. But, when I cleaned my pc I forgot my external Pro Drive was unplugged because I ran a scan on it and it said the Trojan was in there. Later I singled out my music (which is mostly what is on the Pro Drive) and scanned it for malware which came up malware/virus free.
Now that my pc is clean again I am afraid to hook my Pro Drive up to check it again. What can I do? If I have to wipe out my music, I can replace it again from my main computer, correct?

 

If your Pro drive is infected, then don't plug it in while Windows is running. Build yourself a boot disc like Hiren's Boot CD. Then unplug your main drive and plug in the Pro drive. Boot to the CD and using the format utility, reformat the drive. It should now be clean. Plug the internal drive back in and copy the music from your C drive back to your Pro drive.

Err.. can you explain that please? Prob simple but I am not sure what you mean.. Do I have to open my computer case? :confused

 

Yes, open up the case and unplug the data cable for the internal drive. This way the virus can't jump from the Pro drive back you your main drive
