external toshiba HDD USB 2.0 format msg :S

    hi .. i have a toshiba external hdd USB2.0 320 GB .. it was workin smoothly till this msg came up after i connected it to an apple pc :
    you need to format this disk drive before you can use it :S .. i have an important data inside and i dont want to lose them .. please advice

    Connect it back up to a Windows PC and check in Disk Management whether it is formatted with NTFS or with FAT32. If it's NTFS, you need to copy the data off, reformat it as FAT32 and then paste the data back onto it.

    its RAW and i still have the problem .. i tried to delete the letter but it wont work either ..

    RAW? No ... that's gonna be tough to fix.

    Can you dismantle the external housing and connect the hard drive internally into a PC? If you can do that, download and create UBCD4W, there are some diagnostic tools and a utility or two that may be able to get your partitions and data back.
