Extra Crap From Installing Stuff

When i installed AIM i got bunch of extra "crap" on my computer, some ad's that automatically come with AIM and i cant find it on Add/Remove Programs and theirs an update alert for AOL that keeps coming up on the toolba.that i dont want to install, but i cant figure out how to stop it from coming up every couple minutes. Anyone that can help Thank You.

 

Did the Aim installer have a Custom installer? If so, uninstall AIM, cross your fingers that it also uninstalls the other crapware it installed ( ), then re-install with custom mode. Then uncheck anything you do not wish to have.

Everytime a new AIM comes out, it's loaded with more BULLCRAP than the last one.

/\ Is perfect for getting an older, better version of AIM. I'm also pretty sure it doesn't include any crappy extra stuff, just the critical program files. Not positive on that, but I haven't noticed any random crap from the "old version" that I got.
