    All,

I'm trying to build a poor man's hotswap backup HDD. I'd like to mount a bunch of my stack of 40 - 80 gb. HDD's in my large collection of cheapo-plastic "mobile racks," mount a mobile rack tray in one of those 5.25 external enclosures, and hook it up via USB / 1394 to do backups.

(This would be for the zillion tech-support-mooching family members who need me to fix their PC's at 8:46 PM on Sunday for the kid's project that somehow just corrupted itself......)

Anyhow, none of the dozen or so external enclosures I looked at are long enough, what with the interface circuits in 'em and all.

Anybody know one these that's long enough to acccommodate a mobile rack?

(My only other choice is to buy two of 'em, break out the the bandsaw and my handy TIG torch, but I'd rather spend the $49.99 just once.)

    Thanks,

    tocuin
