My Dell computer uses Firefox. I'm not sure how it happened, but somehow I added an extra tool bar line at the top of the page I don't want but can't remove. I tried right clicking within that line but nothing in the drop down menu will allow me to remove the line.

The unwanted line has "4shared", a box with a drop down menu, and right facing arrow on the left side of the line and icons for "Manage your tool bar settings" and "thousands of free apps for your toolbar" on the right side of the line.

As always, thanks so much for your help! It's great having a place where people like me can get great advice.

If you Do go into Firefox then tools then Addons Then Extensions

Then look for the Tool bar there.and uninstall it.

Then make sure its not it your installer list

    Go to start Control Panel

    Add or Remove Programs.

And check there if its all so in there

    I would use
    This First

If it was installed then there might be registry left be hind so use the Iobit uninstaller too uninstall any file that was installed. The Iobit uninstaller will delete the Registry in advance mode.

Then After the Iobit uninstaller use this.

Too search for any left over files bye the Tool bar.
Then Delete any File it finds. This way its not taking up space.

These tool bars can be very tricky to delete some times.

This my way and it works every time when i want to delete every any thing.

Sorry, but the only thing I know is the description of what it looks like I gave in my original post. Is there a way to do a system restore in Firefox? When I was using Internet Explorer I think I could remove something by doing a system restore to a date before the problem occurred. But I tried using the help button in Firefox and couldn't find info on system restore?

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. When I right clicked inside the unwanted toolbar on the drop down menu there was "4shared community tool bar" checked off. So I just unchecked it and the unwanted toolbar disappeared.

I could have sworn the listing of "4shared community tool bar" wasn't there when I right clicked when this problem first occured!!

You should also try to uninstall it: Tools | Add-ons | Extensions - if you see it there, click the Remove button.
