Extract Mactintosh .sit Files....

I have been trying to open a .sit file extracted from a .hqx which I used winzip to extract.

I then tried Stuffit extractor to open the .sit file but it gives errors which I cannot find out online as my anti-virus prevents me from accessing the site since the one has an invalid or expired server certificate.

Here is the link to the file in question:starfury.hqx and does anyone have an older mac computer that can access the file and extract it?

Thanks but like I said I can extract the .sit from a .hqx archive using winzip but the actual .sit file is the issue.

 

If Stuffit Expander can't open the .sit file it's probably corrupt.
This can happen when a compressed archive is put inside another archive.

 

Is there a way to test the .sit file to see if it is corrupted or not?

I got it from the archived copy of the Babylon 5 Warner Bros site but it is the only copy of the video as the .mov for pc did not get archived.That is why I am trying to to get help to convert\extract the .mov so I can can share as well as collecting clips from the show as I am a huge FAN!!!!

Been looking for clips for the show from back then but not all the clips had been archived which sucks!Even rare behind the scene stuff was never fully backed up. Only a few were archived.

for what it is worth, there is an edit note that says v6 runs on win10
and here

and odd thing here is that v5 is roughly 1.8 MB, v6 about 2.4MB
then going to stuffit, that expander is about 106.7MB
i have not had to open a sit file in decades, so good luck with it.

 

v6x worked as I was able to extract it but it has no extension .ie .mov just Starfury Quicktime. If I add .mov to the filename to have it opened in Quicktime video player v7 and the file is unable to play as it is in an unknown format.

Here is the exact message from Quicktime:
Error -2048: Couldn't open the file Starfury Quicktime.qt because it is not a file that Quicktime understands.

 

Something is wrong. A video file cannot be 266 KiB.
What's the size of the archive?

 

The starfury.hqx is 389kb and the starfury.sit is 281kb. I have a few other vids from the archived B5 Warner Bros official site and the one vid is 172kb,another one being 216kb or 414kb...Tiny resolution but they play fine. Rare finds!
