    Good evening boys and girls

Just used Asus EZ flash 2 for the first time. My old ROM was 08, so I decided to load up 14 to sort out some trouble I was having with RAID 0.

So, after a lovely and smooth BIOS flash from a USB, the BIOS told me it would restart in 5 seconds. The computer restarted, but alas no display, no USB lights (keyboard and mouse) and the HDD light goes to constant 5 second flash (as it always does whenever i'm only using BIOS)

Even though this is the first time i've flashed a mobo, I went by the book. I downloaded the update from ASUS, and extracted it to a dedicated flash drive. I entered my current BIOS and noted down any setup information, then f5'd to set to defaults. Saved and exited, after restart went into BIOS and chose EZ flash. BIOS switch was smooth and effortless, and it confirmed success before it restarted. Then on the restart was where i met the problems.

So, what to do? I've tried leaving the PSU off for a bit, removing all unecessary CD's, USB's, GPU's etc, and removing the CMOS battery.

    Nothing has worked!

I would love some extra info and HELP from more experienced 'flashers' ;)

mobo is: ASUS P5N32-E SLI PLUS

    Thanks all

Have you tried to flash it back to the original BIOS? It's not happened to me, but I know of an individual who flashed his board with what he thought was an updated BIOS but it turned out to be the wrong one for his board's revision version (or something to that effect). Anyway, he was able to flash the BIOS with the original file and recover. It was an ASUS board also, but I don't remember the model.

I have found ASUS boards to be friendly when it comes to BIOS upgrades . . . so I suspect the problem is with BIOS file you used - perhaps it was corrupted in some way?

    Anecdotal help, I know.

Thanks Spad. My screens dont show anything when my computer boots though, so I cant access BIOS. Even if I could I wouldn't know what I was doing as both screens simply stay on standby!

I'm extremely worried that i've runined my mobo :(

Sounds like a failed bios update or you used the wrong bios.

You may want to try the asus crash free bios. Look in your mobo manual on how to do this.

If that doesn't work you may be able to get a replaceable bios chip.
