I just went out and bought FEAR, I think it really has potential to be a great game, but I am having a problem with with the sound. I cannot hear any of the dialect in the game. All of the other sounds and music work fine. Has anyone else had a problem or heard of a problem similar to this? The only thing I can think of is that maybe my onboard sound on my AN7 isnt capable of handeling all of the sounds produced by the game.

Have you downloaded the latested drivers for your onboard sound?

You might need to get a sound blaster live 5.1 and can get them cheap (i play F.e.a.r with my sound blaster live 5.1 with no trouble).

just download all the newest drivers. maybe there is a patch for download somewhere if other people have had the same problem. you could just enable subtitles if you don't feel like buying a new audio card if all else fails. i actually prefer subtitles but its your choice. maybe the volume for speech in the controls is set to low.

Thanks for the replys guys, but just after I posted this I was able to find something on vivendis message board. Apparantly this is a fairly common problem and all you have to do is manually install some audio codecs that are included on the cd.
