F-prot - anyone used this.

Hello people,

I am wondering if anyone who has used F-prot can advise, I was informed by a superior older geek that this is a very good tool for finding "issues" (its suposedly an anti-malware program) and it runs or can run from Cd or A:\ - bootable? Is it out dated or does this still have practical use?

Please advise if anyone has had good or bad results from the app, thinking of using this, but only on the advice from one other person at this stage so i thought I'd ask the rest of the world.

Also if there are new variants of this can anyone advise of the site to download this from, I am very...busy...busy...busy at work.

I haven't used F-Prot but I can recommend something free and paid and has worked wonders, malwarebytes. http://majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Anti-Malware_d5756.html
So far I have used it on three infested computers and the owners were thrilled with the great cleaning job it did. One computer would not boot completely without lots of pops and no internet access. Another had porn and cleaned up 70 some trojans and the third showed no signs of problems but cleaned out over 100 trojans.
I was so impressed with it that I bought it and put it on my husband's computer. He is a fairly safe surfer but I don't want to clean when I can protect and the paid version will monitor and download updates automatically. All I have to do is scan.
